I said I would do it.

Here are the pictures of the head scarf I made yesterday. I think it turned out pretty good, considering I designed the pattern myself and it was a first try. The pictures could be better, but I had to take them of myself. That always makes me feel a little weird. :)

And a picture of something else I did today (alllllll day....). Elijah and I played legos. We built every single thing in the booklet. Here is our truck:

Dinner is in the slow cooker. It's Cheesy Chicken and Tortillas. It'll get all mixed together and put in the oven in about 45 minutes. Yummy!
Oh, and I won my friend Holly's slow cooker cookbook givaway! I am so excited! Her blog is on my sidebar -- you should check it out!

Another day, another blog...

Here I am again! Not behind yet...

What's for dinner, you ask? It's Chicken Noodle Casserole, and it's in the oven right now.

Elijah went to school today. He goes to the Montessori preschool 8-3:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I couldn't bear the thought of sending him all day long for more than two days a week. I like it when he's home with me and his brother and sister! Plus, he's only four. He has his whole life to go to school, but he can only stay at home with mommy for such a small amount of time. He loves school, though. His teachers are always telling us how well he's doing. Today he came home and told me they are learning about the continents and the oceans, and he named every continent and every ocean. I was quite impressed! (By the way, can you name all five oceans?)

I made a cute headscarf for myself today. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow, when the light returns.

Speaking of tomorrow, that's THE DAY. The day I start working out start drinking ONLY water. Ugh. I mean, it's going to be awesome! I have the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, and tomorrow is Day 1. I'll let you know how it goes, but judging by my friends' reactions it is going to HURT. Which is good, because that's what I need: a good kick in the butt. So, yoga in the morning and Jillian in the afternoon. Oh, and when I said that I would be drinking only water, I meant that I would be drinking only water and wine. Seriously. I have to have my wine.

Okay, off to enjoy the casserole.

Hello.

Welcome to my new blog. I had an old blog, but it hasn't been updated since late 2007. I hope I can keep this one up. I always have a lot going on. :) I'm a wife and a mommy of three wonderful children. I stay at home with them, but that is actually a considerable amount of work. My husband is Travis, and my kids are Elijah (4.5), Ethan (3), and Madelyn (17 months). I'll introduce them in detail in a different post.

My main hobbies are creative in nature. I love to sew, cook, bake, and just...create. Rare is the moment in which I'm not thinking on my next project. Especially now that I have a daughter and there are tons of dresses, hairbows, doll clothes, diapers, diaper bags, purses, and other fun girlie things to make! I could probably devote an entire blog to just the things I make, so expect lots of entries about that.

I also consider myself kind of a classical music nut. I play the violin and the piano, and I'm always listening to it. If my life had a soundtrack, it would include mostly classical (genre, not time period - wanted to clarify!) music. I would have to mix in some awesome tunes from Glee, though. :)

I mentioned cooking before...that's kind of new. I always loved to bake, but cooking is a new passion of mine. I made a resolution this year to use mostly whole and organic foods in cooking as many meals for my family as possible. I have been making all of our bread at home too. In order to keep me on track, I've decided to mention what I'm making for dinner in all my blog entries. Today I'm making a slow cooker chicken taco soup and some buttermilk wheat bread, out of 100% organic ingredients. It smells amazing in my house right now! Here's a (rather boring) picture of it all cooking, but I'll take a picture of the final product later.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog! Please follow me or comment, because I want to read yours too! I'll close with a picture of Madelyn I took earlier today. She's wearing some pieces from the new Gymboree fairy line (two more subjects for future blogs: shopping and Gymboree!). Isn't she pretty?
